Life After Radio Frequency Therapy

After the therapy, you may have minimal discomfort that can be relieved with over-the-counter pain medicines. You can return to most normal activities within 2 to 3 days,1 and most men notice their symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) improving within 4 to 12 weeks.

RF therapy is a single-event, in-office treatment for enlarged prostate that can eliminate your urinary symptoms for up to 5 years – without daily BPH medication.2,3 With RF therapy, you can put the focus back on your life, not your prostate problems.

Recovery

RF therapy is a minimally-invasive, in-office treatment for urinary problems due to an enlarged prostate. The treatment is designed to be performed without general anaesthesia. There’s no need for a hospital stay. Most men go home the same day. You can expect to return to most of your normal activities within a day or two.

Results

After RF therapy, most men notice an improvement in their enlarged prostate symptoms within 2 to 6 weeks of treatment.2,3 Results may vary depending on the severity of your urinary problems and the size of your prostate.

It can take up to 3 months to experience the full improvement of your enlarged prostate symptoms.4 Follow your doctor’s instructions about when to stop taking your BPH medication.

RF therapy provides long-term relief of urinary symptoms due to enlarged prostate. In a recent medical study, RF therapy was shown to effectively treat enlarged prostate symptoms for up to 5 years.2,3 Only 14% of men treated in this study needed to have the more invasive transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) surgical procedure within 5 years of their treatment with RF therapy.2
