The Reveal® XT Patient Assistant
The Reveal XT Patient Assistant is a hand-held, battery-operated device about the size of a pack of cards. The use of this device is directed by your doctor. When the Patient Assistant is placed over your Reveal Insertable Cardiac Monitor, and a button is pressed, it triggers the device to record your heart rhythms and mark the place on the heart record when your symptoms occurred. Of course, your Reveal Insertable Cardiac Monitor will also record your heart rhythms automatically.
As directed by your doctor, when your symptoms occur, you or a family member should do the following:
. You should hear a short beep and see a flashing green status light at the top of the Reveal Patient Assistant.Note: If your Patient Assistant has a Query button on the top left, you can press this button to check for events recorded in your heart monitor. Your doctor will tell you when to use this button. See your Reveal XT Patient Manual for detailed instructions on using the Reveal XT Patient Assistant.
The Reveal Patient Assistant battery is designed to last through hundreds of uses. But, if you do not see the status light flashing, ask your doctor about exchanging the Patient Assistant.
