Radio Frequency Therapy
Medtronic’s pioneering Prostiva® Radio Frequency (RF) Therapy is a safe, minimally invasive procedure with few side effects. It uses low-level radio frequency energy to reduce symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) – or enlarged prostate – for up to 5 years in clinical studies.1,2 It’s an effective alternative for men who don’t want to take daily medication or deal with the side effects that can result from surgery.
For Enlarged Prostate/BPH
If you have an enlarged prostate, excess prostate tissue may “squeeze” your urethra. This can cause uncomfortable and inconvenient urinary symptoms, including frequent urination, a sudden need to urinate, or straining. Our Prostiva RF Therapy uses low-level radio frequency energy to destroy excess prostate tissue, allowing you to urinate more normally. The procedure leaves the urethra and the rest of the prostate unaffected.
